Tournament Credit Accounts
Overview
The Tournament Credit account system is another type of account used by the
POSey system.__It differs from open and extended payment accounts in that
the account must have an unused credit amount in order to be used.
Tournament Credit derives its name from from the application for which it
was developed.__That is the establishment of a credit account as an award
for winning a tournament.__The credit account may permit the winner to make
purchases at a pro shop or restaurant.
However, POSey tournament credit accounts may be used for a variety of
applications where persons are granted credit toward purchases.__One good
example is the issuing of gift certificates to customers.__When gift
certificates are purchased, the tournament credit account can be credited
for the certificate amount.__Then the account holder may use the credit
balance as tender against purchases until the amount is expended.
In order to use tournament credit accounts, you must program a Tournament
key on the keyboard.__This is a type of media key that is used to tender the
sale against a tournament credit account.

Tournament Credit Account Entry
This program allows you to create and edit tournament credit accounts.__The
account entry is divided into three main sections, as described below.
Account Description
The top part of the tournament credit entry screen is for the account number
and personal information about the account holder.__The account must have an
account number by which it can be identified.
As with accounts receivable, the name 1 field is used for name queries in
the register and should be entered last name first and in ALL CAPS.__Name 2
is used when printing account statements and can be formatted first name
first.
The address, town, state, and zip code should be entered as you would like
it to appear on statements.__The phone number is for reference purposes, and
is optional.
Account Balance Information
The middle section of the entry screen contains information relative to the
account balance and purchase activity.__Any of the fields may be edited from
this screen, however under normal circumstances you should only enter or
change the amount of credit, and the last credit posting date.__The amount
of credit used, amount of available credit, and the last purchase date are
automatically updated by the Register when transactions are posted.
Comments
The bottom section of the screen may be used for comments about this
particular account.__Up to five lines may be entered.__These comments, as
well as the rest of the account information may be displayed when doing a
tournament credit account inquiry from the Register.
Tournament Credit Statements
This program will print tournament credit statements for the period.__It
uses the Defaults Configuration to determine the location of the printer.
It is important to run this program before the Process End of Month program.
Three print options are available when printing tournament account
statements;
____* You may elect to print a statement for a single account.__The program
______will ask the account number to print.
____* You may print statements for all tournament credit accounts.
____* You may print all statements beginning at a specified account number.
______This allows you to reprint the statements starting at a predefined
______point.__This is helpful if a previous print run resulted in problems
______with the printer.
Finally, you will be prompted whether you want to print zero balance
statements.__Once you answer yes or no to this prompt, printing will begin.
There is no screen or file output option for this program.
Process End of Month
This program will delete all the old tournament credit invoice information.
The old invoice files will be renamed from TCINV.DAT to TCINV.OLD and from
TCINV.RND to TCINV.ORD in case you need to recover the original data.
Be sure you have printed tournament credit statements and have a copy
on file before running this program.
